Description

Aiguillettes are distinguished ornamental cords, often made from intricately braided metallic or fabric threads, and traditionally worn as part of military, ceremonial, or formal dress uniforms. Typically draped over the shoulder and fastened to the chest, aiguillettes signify a position of authority, duty, or honor—commonly associated with aides-de-camp, high-ranking officers, or ceremonial officials.

The design features one or more cords, sometimes tipped with metal aglets, and may vary in color and complexity based on the wearer’s role, rank, or branch of service.
